Vijay Latchman Sookram

Born : 21st May 1978

Passed on 23rd September 2008

I only knew Vijay after his accident back in Nov'04....a few weeks before I get there to see him and the whole family for my akad nikah in Nebraska. It was devastating back then when I knew that I can ever really know my brother in law like he is used to be full with life,jokes and etc. From what I heard and told.

But I have to say, eventhough most people think I do not know him, I might now him well as they do for the last 3.8 years as we spent many times together ans shared our life together as well. Vijay was big in our life and involved in mostly all the family activities.

His passed was a shock to us after he survived the ordeal of the brain injury frm the accident in Nov'04. I couldn't believe when I heard the news on Wed's morning. It's like a dream and you never want to get up ASAP. He died in his sleep after a seizure....he never it before.

The family is coping well and we will have his memorial and funeral on Tues 30th September 2008 @ 3pm.

I'm preparing the photo tribute for the service and once I have the the time to download all the picture here, I will.

May your soul rest in peace Vijay...we love you so much...

Dad bought us GREAT ticket seats to the game. We were on the 3rd row frm the field at 40 yards. Thanks so much Dad!! We had an awesome time. That was my 1st time at the game!

Daddy New USED Car

He loves it too

So i finally got a car for him to go to work. We got a Nissan Altima '03 with 109K miles for $8K. Clean title frm one owner. Have some dings and paint chips on the front a lot frm rough highway usage.

So at least my burden of car shopping is lifted now...fuuuihhhh.

This time, I didn't get a white car and away frm Mitsubishi. Have nothing against the brand, just bad omen for us now. 2nd white Mitsubishi cars totalled in 1.2 years! And yes, we do not want to assign a name for this car either. Just leave the way it is.

Wish us luck with this car. Hope we will use it till 200k miles!!

Trip to Pediatrician's clinic for 2 yrs check up

We were worried and expresses our concern about him not speaking yet. But the Dr told us, not to worry. He have 2 languages that he is using....so that's slow him a little. Physically he is doing great and be where toddler his age should be.

His weight is about 29.8 lbs (70%) and on his 75% for height. That's pretty good I guess.

Stay Home Mom....Ever Wonder?

I'm just inspired after I had my coffee for sahur this morning. Ever wonder why stay at home Mom is so busy? I'm wondering myself...I am asking myself what make me so bz with no job. Stay at home Mom is a fulltime job for sure. I never thought I will be doing it after spending so many years studying and got my degree I guess. Then again this is what I choose with my situation and it turns or great and better for me. Less stress and migraines but still got stress lah.

I cannot see myself juggling work and maitaining the house in this Free World Country. Hard to do it alone without help. Unlike my friends and family in Malaysia who mostly working and have a maid to help them taking care of the kids and clean the house, I do not have the luxury to do that here. That's a norm in KL at least and I would do it too in heart beat if I have the choice to do that too. Heee heeee. To get a maid will cost so much $$ 'kaching...kaching' and so many rules and regulation that you have to abide. So NO...that not the choice to have here.

Here, I have to do almost everything myself and that really keeps me bz, plus the added social activities with friends and community here. Sometimes I wonder 'what did i do today or this week that make me so bz?' but it's really hard to pinpoint on one thing. Doing a few things and going frm one place or another will ended taking most of my days. Especially if you have added special situations that you have to do like car shopping, scheduling for fixing the roof and dealing with reimbursement with insurance or mortgage company...and all..more work lah...aiyo!!

And the things is, this is nothing yet, it will get worst once Jeffrey is in school....more activities and errunds to run for. My weekends will be full with birthday parties, game days and all...it's whole new world!!!

First of all, thanks you to Grandpa & Grandma Sookram for hosting the party for Jeffrey and let us used their place and pool for the event. Thanks Grandma! Thanks Grandpa!

We had the party at Nebraska Football 1st game! Big mistake! Hard to get people attention when the game in on. Anyway, it was still fun. Poor Grandpa and us the Husker fan ....we were upset as the reception signal for the cable to the pay per view game was distrupted several times. Ask for refund Grandpa! 2 games!

For all family and friend who showed up...THANKS SO MUCH!!
